About

My husband and I lived on the island of Kauai for 30 years. I was a piano teacher and he managed the known world. We raised four children and were very busy. I got rock fever* a lot. One day, after the kids were grown, we decided to quit our jobs and sell our house and go on an adventure. Away from the rock. We wandered in the world for a little while and tried to stop being very busy. When it became difficult to ignore the reality of our dwindling bank account we decided to pick a place to call home. That place is Portland, Oregon. So far no rock fever.

My secret wish has always been to be a writer. This blog is my way to try and learn to actually be one. I have a long ways to go. But I'm going to keep trying. Welcome to Wandering Awed.

* Rock Fever (as defined by the Urban Dictionary) - The hemmed-in, claustrophobic, trapped feeling (some) mainlanders get when they spend too much time in Hawaii.
